Koda Oller

My name is Koda Oller, and I proudly serve the Oklahoma FFA Association as the 2020-21 state FFA secretary.

I am from a small town named Garber, about 15 miles east of Enid. I attended Garber Public Schools proudly from first to 12th grade. Before that, I attended Drummond Public Schools for pre-K and kindergarten.

Growing up, I have always been involved in agriculture and have been around rural communities my entire life. My father and mother, Rick and Karla Oller have taught me many life lessons about living on a farm. I have been involved in our small family farm, where we grow wheat and have had horses, cattle, goats and dogs. My mother and father grew up on the rodeo tours, which is where my sister, Kami, found her interest. She has barrel raced her entire life.

I always wanted to fall into my parents’ footsteps of being the next NFR world champion team roper, but soon changed my dreams when I started racing sprint cars around the age of 10. Throughout my years in school, I showed goats, raced cars, played football, baseball, basketball, track and participated in FFA, NHS, STUCO and FCA.

All along, I knew I wanted to be in FFA. During my five years in this amazing organization, I had several SAEs in small animal production and care. I bred beagles from age 12 to 18, and I showed goats from age 8 to 16. I also was in the public speaking LDE and employment skills, agricultural communications and livestock judging CDEs.

When I finally got to eighth grade, my ag ed instructor, Joe McGoveran, let me get my feet wet. He then moved, and I gained Cassie Graham, who sparked my interest in the FFA world by pushing me to limits I didn’t know I had in public speaking, livestock judging and other events.

My last ag teacher, Mark Sneary, who I had my senior year, let me fulfill my dreams of becoming a state officer. Without all three of them, I couldn’t be where I am today.

This fall, I will attend Oklahoma State University with a major in construction engineering technology. I hope to have the opportunity to be a large construction developer and own several small businesses.
