  Central Area VP
Jacob Nunley

My name is Jacob Nunley, and I am humbled to serve as Central Area vice president for the Oklahoma FFA Association!

I grew up in Tecumseh, Oklahoma, where I attended Tecumseh Public Schools from pre-K through graduation. My family lived on a ranch that served as a highly productive quarter horse operation. My family consists of my two sisters, Lynsey and Abby; my brother, Jaxon; my mother, Stephanie Reeves; and my father, Mark Nunley.

My involvement in the National FFA Organization was sparked by my love for Oklahoma agriculture. As an incoming member, I competed in quiz bowl competitions, presented speeches and always asserted myself into as many community service activities as possible. Throughout my journey in FFA, I competed in numerous Career Development Events such as the animal science quiz bowl CDE and the livestock evaluation CDE. My FFA advisers were Dodge Nichols, Mackenzie Hearn, Kendall Whittington and Jarrett Davis.

My Supervised Agricultural Experience consisted of two experiences that went hand in hand with each other. I exhibited show swine from eighth grade until graduation. I was fortunate to exhibit the bronze overall swine at the Pottawatomie County Junior Livestock Show and was Senior Showman at the Pottawatomie County Free Fair.

Following show season of my junior year, I worked at S&S Farm Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. This experience began my agricultural placement SAE. At the feed store, I was able to use my knowledge of the show industry to better serve patrons of the community.

When I’m not in the blue and gold, I enjoy hanging out with friends and taking spontaneous road trips. These small moments are valuable and something I hold dear to my heart. I also enjoy fishing in the evenings at one of our four bass-stocked ponds throughout our pasture.

Beginning this fall, I will attend Oklahoma State University and major in agricultural education. Following graduation, I will teach agricultural education to students with the goal of producing intelligent young agriculturalists ready for tomorrow’s world. Later, I plan to raise show pigs and build a sow herd of my own.
